A PAIR OF SCHOOL UNIFORM

Dear friends, at times I sit and look back at what the Lord has done to me and I stand amazed. I have indeed seen God in my life. There are moments which seem to me as a dream up-to date.

I recall my high school life which to me seemed to have been a flash light passing over land mass. Imagine surviving with only one pair of uniforms for four years? I know you are wondering how this is possible but I made it. I survived with only a pair of uniform from form one to form four.

Truly, by the end of the first year, the uniform was worn out. 'Mthafo' as we used to call it back in school.
This is how the story went. ....
I was an active CU leader from form Two and a strong school choir member. Of course during the CU and School Choir outings I had to be smart. My friends, with this, I struggled. The CU choir was required to sing every Monday, Tuesday and Friday during assemblies and as well on Sunday during the service. I was required to be smart since I was to sing before fellow students, teachers and the principal too.

I can't say it was easy. It wasn't.
This is what I used to do. I would borrow a shirt from a friend in one dorm, a pair of trousers from another, a sweater from another and a pair of shoes from another.

This is how I used to survive, I would be very careful not to borrow from the same dormitory twice within a short time. Friends, one day, I borrowed a pair of trousers only to realize it was bigger than my waist could hold. I went on to borrow a belt. Unfortunate for me again, the belt was still bigger than me.

Poor me! I had to go out again and borrow another belt. This one fitted.
With all this stress, I thank God that I trued my level best to be presentable. I know many fellow schoolmates did not know this. But this is indeed what I went through.

Dear friends, I don't wish to boast But am glad that now I can be able to buy my own clothing.

I wrote this piece to encourage you who is struggling in life at the moment. I wish to tell you that the situation will not last for ever. It will come to an end. Just press on and believe in God.
